TPJ provides a searchable database of all Texas lobbying contracts for 2003.  This database lists each lobbyist, their firm (if listed in Ethics Commission documents), their client, the economic category of each client, and the value of each contract.

Tips for searching:

1. You do not need to fill in the entire name.  For "SBC Communications, Inc.," you could simply put "SBC" in the Client Name field.
2. Try different variations.  While the lobbyist names are standardized, the client names are not.  Thus, if you are searching for all contracts for "SBC Communications, Inc.," you should try a variety of searches, such as "SBC," "Southwestern Bell," and "SWBT."
3. You do not need to fill in every field.  You can use as many or as few fields as you need to define your search.  However, if you are getting hundreds of records at a time, it is probably best to use more fields to narrow your search.

Final Note: If you compare the total number of contracts for a given lobbyist or client in our database with the number listed in our report, you may find a discrepancy.  This is because the database contains contracts with a listed value of "$0," while the report does not.  The total number of paid contracts, and thus the total value of all contracts in the database and report should the same.
